Scaffold presented to Prof. dr. Marleen Temmerman

On 16 March, Mieke, Olivia and Sofie had the honour of presenting the SCAFFOLD ePortfolio to Prof. dr. Marleen Temmerman. She listened with interest and complimented the research group with this beautiful project. Marleen was particularly interested in how this ePortfolio can be useful in an international perspective, more specifically in developing countries. She suggested that international recognition of the tool should be sought, such as through a WHO endorsement or recognition by a US Medical University.

For those who would not know Prof Temmerman? Marleen is professor emeritus of obstetrics and gynaecology UGent, is director of the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health and chair of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at Aga Khan University East Africa in Nairobi, and of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Chair on Youth Leadership in Science, Health, Gender and Education. Before that, she was director of the Reproductive Health and Research Division of the World Health Organisation. Marleen is also founding director of the International Centre for Reproductive Health at Ghent University, Belgium, with sister research organisations in Kenya and Mozambique, and a large global academic collaboration network of 27 universities.
