Prof. Dr. Birgitte Schoenmakers is general practitioner and head of the Universitaire Huisartsengroepspraktijk. She is connected to the KU Leuven, Department of Public Health and Primary Care and responsible for the curriculum of the interuniversity master after master program in general practice and the assessment program. She coordinates the Continuous Medical Education program in Family Medicine. Her research topics are: primary care, elderly care, informal care, diversity in care, patient involvement, practice management and medical education.
